Today we have read at VINA News Blog a report by Sripad Prahlad Das from Sree Chaitanya Gaudiya Math, which makes us to know that Sri Srimad Bhakti Kumud Sant Goswami Maharaj - the last living disciple of Srila Bhaktisiddhanta Sarasvati Thakur Prabhupada - has left His body.

Most Revered Siksha Guru Sri Srimad Bhakti Kumud Sant Goswami Maharaj leaves His dear disciples, associates and followers in separation grief today. This is a great loss not only to the Gaudiya Vaishnavas but to the entire world. One of the brightest stars in the Gaudiya sky, Srila Bhakti Kumud Sant Goswami Maharaj took His last breath at 1.05 AM IST today in a private nursing home.
 
Earlier Srila Maharaj was admitted to the hospital as He had problem in respiration due to severe cold few days ago. Doctors also diagnosed that He had fever, sugar and lever problem. These external things just became apparent cause but ultimately it was His desire to be part of the mid-night eternal pastimes of the Lord. He is the last disciple of Nitya-lila Pravista Om Vishnupad 108 Sri Srimad Bhakti Siddhanta Saraswati Goswami Thakur Prabhupad, the Founder of world-wide Sri Chaitanya Math, Sri Gaudiya Math and Sri Gaudiya Missions to leave this planet.
 
At 9.45 AM IST Srila Maharaj's transcendental body was brought to the Math in Behala, Kolkata and was placed in front of the Deities. He was performed Arati, Pushpanjali. Countless devotees of various organizations visited the math and offered flowers to His body. Later He was shifted to the bhajan kutir in the 2nd floor where devotees stood in queue to get their turn to have darsan of His transcendental body. The grief of the devotees cannot be phrased and expressed in any language of the world.
 
 
From our Math Srila Bhakti Saurabh Acharya Maharaj, Srila Bhakti Pangat Sannyasi Maharaj and few other Brahmacharis along with two personal sevaks of Srila Gurudev went to Behala Math to offer flowers and homage to Srila Maharaj. Srila Gurudev sent a flower garland to Srila Sant Goswami Maharaj that was offered to the later by Srila Acharya Maharaj. Srila Gurudev accepted the Prasad garland of Srila Sant Goswami Maharaj with great reverence. Srila Maharaj's transcendetal body will be taken to Narma near Medinipur where Srila Sant Goswami Maharaj appeared. There is a 400 year old Sri Radha Kishore Jiu temple at that place where Srila Sant Goswami Maharaj used to visit in His childhood. From there He would be taken to Sri Chaitanya Ashram in Kharagpur. Later He would be taken to Keshiari where He established Sri Gauranga Math and the final samadhi will take place there.
 
When informed, Most Revered Srila Gurudev took the message in shock. He remembered Srila Sant Goswami Maharaj's affection to Him in the past and also His recent visit to the Behala Math (http://www.sreecgmath.org/scgmhome/node/46). Srila Guru Maharaj mentioned, "He used to give me Prasad whenever I went there. He used to show lot of affection. This time also when I went I held His hand and spoke but He did not speak anything. He was the only one left among the disciples of Srila Prabhupad but now He also left. Anything may happen anyime." He paused for a while and said again, "Even Sriman Mahaprabhu exhibited the pastimes only for 48 years", probably indicating that it is the desire of the Lord and His devotees to perfrom more pastimes on earth or go back to their original place.
 
Srila Bhakti Vigyan Bharati Maharaj said, "Srila Sant Goswami Maharaj was very powerful in his speech and very bold too. One time in a Harikatha assembly the guest speaker said that all jivas are non-different from brahman quoting the vedas - jiva brahmaiva na param (living entities are none other than brahman). Immediately Sant Goswami Maharaj stood up and rushed towards the speaker to beat him. He reacted and went aback. Srila Sant Maharaj proceeded towards Him and again showed him the fist as if to beat him. He again tried to save himself. Like this Srila Sant Maharaj feared the speaker 3-4 times and the guest everytime tried to protect himself from the attack.  Later Srila Sant Goswami Maharaj said, 'Brahman is nirvikar (unperturbed). If you are brahman why are you getting vikar (perturbed)?' All the devotees and other members laughed and the speaker became silent and ashamed."
 
Srila Bhakti Saurabh Acharya Maharaj broke into tears while He was giving Jaya-dhvani of Srila Sant Goswami Maharaj after Mangala-arati today. While on the way to Behala Math today he recollected, "Srila Sant Goswami Maharaj had lot of respect and regard to our Gurudev. After Srila Prabhupad's disappearance Srila Sant Maharaj (he was Sri Radharaman brahmachari that time) left the Math and desired to enter household life. He went to a place near Medinipur for marriage. Knowing this our Gurudev walked to that place from Medinipur on an Ekadasi day. Our Gurudev used to observe Nirjala (fast even from water) on all ekadasis. So though He was fasting and tired of programs He walked to the place of Sri Radharaman Das's parents and convinced them. After they were convinced He went to Sri Radharaman Das. As soon as he saw our Gurudev, he stood up in reveration and payed obeissances. Srila Gurudev spoke with him for a while explaining why he should remain celebate for his entire life and propagate the message of Sriman Mahaprabhu. Srila Sant Maharaj felt as if Srila Prabhupad had come in the form of our Gurudev to show him the right path. Later he gave up his family and joined the institute of Srila Prabhupad taking a vow that he will never ever enter household life."

German devotees and matajees have published at their Kurukshetra blog http://berlintempel.blogspot.com/  They recorded the protest against the threat of ban the Bagavad Gita in Russia on a video called "Save the Gita" uploaded on Quirio TV.  




As Bhagavad Gita is facing a ban in Russia, German devotees headed by Gurudeva took this action in front of the Russian Embassy in Berlin.  While chanting 'Hare Krishna, Hare Rama' to the sound of drums and cymbals, and holding placards and posters Śrīla Bhakti Aloka Paramadvaiti Mahārāja along with his disciples - devotees and matajees from VRINDA Mission - peacefully demonstrated in front of Russian Embassy in Berlin, Germany Yatra, to protest over Bhagavad Gita ban in Russia.

departed Dec. 20th on morning of Saphala Ekadasi
 
Early this morning on Saphala Ekadasi in Florida, our very dear Godsister Yamuna left this world. Don't have any details yet, but Dina Tarini found her asleep with her hand in her beadbag. One of Prabhupada's first and dearest daughters, he said she cooks just like Radharani. So now she must be helping Radharani to cook for Shyamasundara. 
Too shocked to say more right now, but on 23rd in Vrindavan, we will have a memorial service! Now let us join with all the devotees around the world and offer prayers to Srila Prabhupada to bring her to his lotus feet.

Trascendental Visit to Vrinda Kunja Ashram

Devotees from the VRINDA MISSION - founded by Srila B. A. Paramadvaiti Swami Maharaj - in their Vrinda News Blogspot  http://vrindanews.blogspot.com/  have informed about the visit of the current Acarya of the Sri Chaitanya Gaudiya Math and current president of the World Vaishnava Association, Srila Bhakti Ballabh Tirtha Goswami Maharaj, to their Vrinda Kunja Ashram in Vrindavan, India, on 5 November.

This is a brief report:  

In this auspicious occasion, Srila B.A. Swami Maharaj Paramadvaiti gave the following words to all those gathered there:

"I just wanted to say that the phrase 'causeless mercy' is very often heard.  However, today we have a practical experience of this causeless mercy.

The message we are getting here is full of nectar:  The service must be continuous. Not only now, even after the liberation, the service is forever. Nitya Krishna das.  If you are an eternal servant, why not to serve right now then.

Gurumaharaj says: The one who does not like service, can not understand this. We have the examples of our Thakurjis, they are also servants.  Srimati Radharani is doing service, mother Yasoda, too; everyone is a good example because they are doing service. Krishna is also doing service; He is playing the flute to invite us to his eternal service.

I can only feel that today, Srila Prabhupada has arrived, Damodhar Maharaj has arrived, Srila Bhaktisidhanta Saraswati has arrived, because Gurudev (Srila Bhakti Ballabh Tirtha Goswami Maharaj) is represented all of them.  Because this spirit, to embrace all the Vaishnavas, to embrace love, is unique and so generous.  The Vaishnavas are the most generous of all, because they want to invite everyone to enter into the service of Krishna (God).

So for these reasons we fully appreciate the presence of Gurudeva today and we asked him to forgive our mistakes and continue driving us to the lotus feet of Krishna.  For that is the safest position.

I thank all the sannyasis, all Prabhus, and all the devotees who came here today".

- A group of four representatives of World Vaishnava Association will go to meet District Manager of West Bengal: Mamata Banerjee: B.V. Vishnu Maharaja (Scgmath), Rasa Vihari Prabhu (Gokul Janmu), Krishna Kumar Agrawal (Kolkata).

- All assembled devotees concluded that to fight for a Braj without plastic and chemicals is not social work or Karma kanda, it is in the line of our Guru Varga.

- Devotees from Mumbai will bring a group one time at month for Cleaning Parikrama.

- Bhakti Prasun Madhusudhan Maharaj will be the leader of cleaning seva in Govardhan.

- WVA office in  Yamuna Kunja will maintain the web site for this project.

The continuation of the Mungeer Mandir meeting of World Vaishnava Association took place in the room of the secretary of Srila Bhakti Ballabh Tirtha Goswami Maharaja, where there was a meeting between Bhakti Vichar vishnu Maharaja, Bhakti Prasun Madhusudhan Maharaja, Pahlad Dasa, Bhakti Alok Paramadvaiti Maharaja and Praneshwara Dasa.

In that meeting it was confirm that volunteers who like to participate in the cleaning program of Govardhan will be welcome in the new project of Sri Caitanya Gaudiya Math which is just on the side of the Govardhan city direction to Radha Kunda on the return part of the parikrama.

This beautifull new building has many rooms with all facilities to those who wants to come to Govardhan and volunteer in the cleaning project.

Bhakti Prasun Madhusudhan Maharaja has the plan to systematically organize this project envolvingmany of the local people. Those who are interested in volunteering in this Holy Place can contact the devotees in charge of the project through the page: volunteerworkindia.blogspot.com

At the Sri Gopinath Gaudiya Math, Old Dauji Temple, in Vrindavan was celebrated a new meeting of the WVA the past 15th of october. The event was focus on "Podium, discussion and debate on appropiate relations among Gaudiya Missions" 

Almost 30 representatives of the different Gaudiya Missions assisted for discussing diferent topics, but the main was the need to situate Srila Bhaktisiddhanta Saraswati Thakur Prabhupada as the greatest hero of divine love in all India. At a meeting of the World Vaishnava Association at the Gopinath Gaudiya Math in Gopishwar Mahadeva, Om Prakash Brajvasi said that all the branches of the Gaudiya Math are the result of Prabhupada Srila Bhaktisiddhanta Saraswati's preaching, but that his contribution was yet to be fully recognized by the wider public.

Bhakti Aloka Paramadwaiti Maharaj said that there are more than 100 ashrams and maths in the Braj area that are connected to the Gaudiya Saraswata family. "We could be a powerful force and get a lot of things done if we were able to work together," he said. He listed a number of tasks related to the environment and the Yamuna River in which the World Vaishnava Association could play an important role. "But we are addicted to acting separately," he said.
 

He unveiled a website for the express glorification of Bhaktisiddhanta Saraswati Thakur and said, "The only way we can find unity is if we agree to work together to establish the heroic role that he played in Bengal."

Bhakti Swarup Sannyasi Maharaj of the Gaudiya Mission said that he wanted to build a "Prabhupada Museum" in Kolkata for precisely that purpose. It was noted that in Kolkata, the ghats on the Hooghly River near the Bagh Bazaar Math are named after people like Lokanath Brahmachari, who may or may not ever have come there, but that a saint with the international influence of Bhaktisiddhanta Saraswati Prabhupada remains unrecognized.

Mahavir Swami suggested why not a Chaitanya Museum here in Vrindavan, and he offered to give 400 square yards of land near Govinda Kund for that purpose.

It was also proposed that a fortnightly publication called Prabhupada Vani should be started for disseminating the news of all the branches of the Gaudiya Math and missions worldwide. Mahavir Swami agreed to take responsibility for the publication and asked that all the maths provide materials to be published.
 

The thorny problem of the annual procession at the time of Bhaktisiddhanta Saraswati's appearance day was tackled with little resolution. Last year another association of Gaudiya Math Vaishnavas held a procession on that occasion with the stipulation that only Srila Prabhupada Siddhanta Saraswati's picture was to be allowed. When some participants came with other pictures and banners, they were torn by zealous defenders of the rule. This led to heated exchanges and bad feelings.

Bhakti Bibudh Bodhayan, president and acharya of the Gopinath Gaudiya Math suggested a compromise solution of allowing Bhaktisiddhanta Saraswati's disciples' picture on the main rath, but nowhere else.

Paramadwaiti Maharaj disagreed and said that each math should come out in full force with the pictures of their gurus and festoons and banners. "If we show how many different groups belong to this family of Saraswata Gaudiya Vaishnavas, how many saints and powerful preachers have come through this line in such a short time, then people will begin to grasp the importance of Saraswati Thakur's role in spreading Krishna consciousness. That he was the true root of this international movement which has had such an influence on Vrindavan today. All the disciples should be allowed to glorify their own gurus as vibhutis of Bhaktisiddhanta Saraswati."

The glorification of a pure devotee is always a moment to rejoice, even more if we are talking about the 50th anniversary of the sannyas ceremony of Srila B.B. Tirtha Maharaj. On the 11th of october, at the Govardhan Temple of the Sri Chaitanya Gaudiya Math, we participated of the celebration of this great and beloved vaisnava, who is furthermore the president of the World Vaisnava Association. Hundreds of people came to offer their reverences and to honor him. The festival also was attended by several representatives, acharyas and sannyas, of different missions.

Srila B.B. Tirtha Maharaj gave darshan and beautiful hari-katha to all the presents, enhancing his Guru Srila B.D. Madhav Maharaj and the vaisnavas in general. The ceremony concluded with a delicious prasadam party.

Preaching tour of Bhakti Vicar Vishnu Swami Maharaja in Europe

Devotees from the Kurukshetra team - Vrinda Mission - have informed about the transcendental visit of Bhakti Vicar Vishnu Swami Maharaja in Berlin, Germany and he also is visiting Prague,  the capital and largest city of the Czech Republic .  He stays in Berlin up to September 26. 

It was announced that Maharaja gives lectures about Vedic philosophy in their Ashram in the mornings, from 06.00 and in the evenings from 19.30.

Srila Bhakti Ballabh Tirtha Goswami Maharaj's intense desire to have darsan and blessings of Parampujyapad Tridandiswami Srimad Bhakti Kumud Sant Goswami Maharaj had taken many of his disciples from the Sree Chaitanya Gaudiya Math to the Math in Behala, Kolkata.  


Srila B. B. Tirtha Goswami Maharaj, Srila Acharya Maharaj along with near about 10 devotees had left for Srila Sant Maharaj's darsan at about 3.30 PM IST  on September 16.  After reaching there Srila B. B. Tirtha Goswami Maharaj offered his obeissances to Srila Sant Goswami Maharaj and offered flowers to his lotus feet and garlanded him with fragrant flowers.  Srila B. B. Tirtha Maharaj in a choked voice prayed to Srila Sant Maharaj, "Please protect me, please protect me."


Later Srila B. B. Tirtha Maharaj placed the hand of Srila Sant Maharaj on His head and held it for a while.  


Srila Sant Maharaj, though exhibiting the pastimes of illness, responded to the touch and words of Srila B. B. Tirtha Maharaj and opened his eyes blessing all the devotees present there.


Disciples of Srila Sant Goswami Maharaj offered Srila B. B. Tirtha Goswami Maharaj and His entourage rich, delicious and sumptuous Prasad. There were about 15-20 recipes prepared and offered to all of them.

Today we share with all of you a piece of news published at Sri Narasingha Chaitanya Ashram http://gosai.com/ It is about the celebration of the holy appearance of Srila Narasingha Maharaja, which was celebrated on Sunday 28th August at Govindaji Gardens.


Over 100 devotees and guests attended the function from Bangalore, Mysore, Mandya, Srirangapatna, Australia, USA and Mexico.



Srila Narasingha Maharaja spoke briefly about the meaning of Vyasa-Puja and then listened to some of the offerings by the assembled devotees.  Later, Srila Narasingha Maharaja presented some of the devotees who had significantly helped with this years Janmastami festival with shawls and photos of Sri Sri Radha-Madhava.



After guru-puja, devotees stepped forward to present their Guru Maharaja with various gifts. Srila Narasingha Maharaja then joined all the devotees in honoring bhagavata-prasadam in the prasadam hall.
